Julian House

Turning a night shelter into the home of opportunity.

Background

Given our agency name, it’s probably no surprise that the team at The House thought it would be appropriate to work with local homeless organisation Julian House. Initially our idea was to offer our services to help with fundraising or volunteering but understandably Julian House was keen to put our brand expertise to good use.

What we did

We worked with stakeholders, staff and volunteers to define their corporate vision and client promise through a series of business, marketing and brand workshops. This allowed the charity to look at itself in a fresh new light and change internal and external perceptions from being simply a night shelter to an organisation that successfully helps Bath’s homeless back into full-time work and their own accommodation. This was brought to life through a simple and dynamic visual identity and key messaging that talked about the growth and opportunity their charity actually creates.

Did it work?

As a result, everyone involved with Julian House now fully understands the wider remit of the charity. They can be more confident in who they are and what they do. The 2010 Christmas fundraising campaign was a huge success, raising over 12% more than the previous year.
